Smitten Polish Glass Elevator & Whimsical Nail Polish By Pam's Cookie Monster

Up for your reading & viewing pleasure today on this lovely Christmas Eve I have 2 awesome bottles of polish by Indie makers. 1st I have Glass Elevator by Smitten Polish. Glass Elevator is a white cream polish with mint green colored glitter. There is ultra fine & small pieces of this mint colored glitter throughout the polish, but not so much to where it's overwhelming or anything. If you're looking for a polish that has just a small touch of glitter to it, this is the one for you. I used 2 coats over 1 coat of Zoya Anchor base coat.

Next up, I have Whimsical Nail Polish by Pam's Cookie Monster. Cookie Monster is 1 of those bottles of polish that I saw on another bloggers page & HAD to have!! I'm such a nail polish whore, it's ridiculous!! I love how her bottle has a cute bow on it to dress it up!! Cookie Monster has a clear base, which I love because you can wear it over many different colors & has ultra fine dark blue glitter & bigger dark blue, white & black hex glitter throughout. I love the formula. It has just the right amount of thickness to it. I couldn't find just the right color to wear it over, so since I already had on the Smitten Polish, I just wore Cookie Monster over that. The pictures show 2 coats over the 2 coats of Glass Elevator & 1 coat of Zoya Anchor base coat.

As always, I love to hear what you guys think, so leave your comments at the bottom!! Thanks for reading!! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!!
*Both of these bottles of polish were PURCHASED BY ME & all OPINIONS ARE MY OWN*

Jindie Nails~Candy Land~Review

Happy Friday!! Up for review today I have an awesome polish from Jindie Nails called Candy Land. I saw a pic of this on another bloggers page & HAD to have it!! I've never seen a polish with these color hexes in it. It is very unique. The white is perfect. It was opaque in 2 coats with no issues except that it was a little hard to get the right amount of hexes on my fingers without a little extra effort, but to me it was worth it for a polish this pretty!! I purchased this with my own money, it was NOT sent to me for review. This was done with a coat of Zoya Anchor base coat, 2 coats of Candy Land & 1 coat of Zoya Armor top coat. Now on with the pictures.

I really do love it!! Let me know what you guys think. I love hearing from you!! You can buy this polish & others in her line from her Etsy shop Here & I'm pretty sure next week Llarowe will also be carrying her line of polish!! You can buy that Here

Nail Art Society December Box

So, this is my 1st box from Nail Art Society. I'm really happy that I signed up when I did, because now they have raised their price up to $19.95/month. If you were already a customer, you get to keep your price of $9.95/box so I'm pretty happy about that.  For that low a price, I really wasn't expecting that much out of it, but thought I would give it a try anyway. Man was I surprised when my box came!! This is what was in my December box!!
It had 2 bottles of Matte-n-a Matte Nail Apparel by Max Make-Up Cherimoya, in the shades Mystery, which is the Magenta color & Blockbuster, the Silver one, 38 Orchid scented nail polish remover pads by Max Make-Up Cherimoya, a pack of Stella rhinestones in sizes from XL through Small & a bottle of Beauty Art professional nail glue. I thought that was a pretty good amount of stuff for $9.95!! It also came with this card & on the other side of it was instructions on how to do a dripping in diamonds manicure from the items they sent me!!
The only thing I thought was weird was that the pics on the card were of totally different manicures & not the dripping in diamonds manicure that the instructions were for. I would have liked it better if there was at least 1 pic of it so I would know what the outcome was supposed to look like...Now, on with the pics of what I created!! I don't really like the big rhinestones on my short nails, but the smaller ones were very pretty.

As you can see from the pics, I chose Mystery to use. I thought this would look better with the silver rhinestones. The polish was more shiny than a normal matte finish polish. The only nail I used a top coat on was the one with the rhinestones. I left the others the way they were to try to show the look of the matte polish. I used 2 coats of the polish over 1 coat of Zoya Anchor basecoat. It went on very smooth & had a nice thickness to it. It also dried VERY fast. I first tried it the way they say to do it with the nail glue, but I didn't like the way the glue was getting onto the sides of my nail, so I used the polish wipes that came in the set to take off the polish from that nail & started over. I then used Zoya Armor topcoat to put the rhinestones on & finished it off with a very thick coat of the topcoat. I thought it turned out nice, but like I said, I didn't like the XL rhinestones on my short nail. Let me tell you about the polish remover wipes, they are to die for!! I've never heard of this Cherimoya brand, but it's good!! The wipes have cuticle oil in them & they leave your cuticles feeling great!! Let me know your thoughts. If you are thinking about joining the club, you can find them on Facebook Here

Bloggers Unite: Nails for Newtown

I think this will be one of things where you will remember exactly where you were & exactly what you were doing when you heard the heartbreaking news. I will never be able to fathom why someone would want to hurt anyone, much less innocent children. My heart breaks for the families & everyone who was affected by this horrible tragedy. I am also proud to be a member of a community that bands together in a show of support for the families & the town of Newtown.

I chose to use China Glaze Moonlight for my white manicure. I love their flawless formula & this color reminds me of purity.

China Glaze~Foie Gras Review

I love China Glaze nail color!! It goes on so smooth & the thickness of the polish is PERFECTION in a bottle! That's why I chose this polish to review. I don't usually wear a lot of brown polish, but something about this one just screamed at me to give it a try....so I did. It looks so much prettier on your nails than it does in the bottle,  I was actually surprised at how much prettier it was. I think the picture captured the color pretty good. It was taken inside with the flash on. As always, comments & suggested are welcome!! Thanks for reading!!

Hare Polish Amethystos over Sally Hansen Royal Purple Chrome Review

Happy Sunday everyone!! The review I have for you today is for Hare Polish Amethystos.  It is a medium purple jelly like base with different silver, pink & purple glitter. It is a beautiful polish alone in 3-4 coats or like I did it, over another similar color.  I chose a Sally Hansen Chrome polish called Royal Purple Chrome.  I chose this color because it's dark & I thought it would really bring out the sparkle in Amethystos, which it did wonderfully!!! I used 1 coat of the Sally Hansen Royal Purple Chrome & 2 coats of the Hare Polish Amethystos.  I had no issues with either polish. I really loved the Sally Hansen Chrome because it was so dark, it only took 1 coat to look great, where most polish takes 2 coats to look great.  The only issue I had with the Hare Polish was I wish the purple in it was a tad darker, otherwise the formula was great & it had just the right amount of glitter to where it looked even after 2 coats. I didn't have to dab it here & there like you have to do with some to make the glitter look even. Ok, let me add this too. I know my skin around my fingers looks terrible right now, lol. I need a manicure in the worst of ways.  I was so excited when I got the polish in the mail, I just painted it on without doing my manicure 1st.  Secondly, I'm not a professional at this. I do it becuase I love nail polish & I like to know what a polish looks like on nails before I buy it, so I figured in my spare time, I could do this for others & have some fun with people while I'm at it.  So, if you're looking for professional looking manicures & pictures, you've come to the wrong place!! If you're here to have fun while talking about nail polish & want an HONEST review of a product, then stick around & let's have some fun!! I think the results are beautiful, what do you think???

China Glaze~Kiwi Cool-Ada & Japanese Koi

This review is for China Glaze Kiwi Cool-Ada & Japanese Koi. I must say that I love China Glaze polish. The formula is not too thick & not too thin, it's just perfect. They are a little pricey, but worth every penny!!

So first up, Kiwi Cool-Ada, which is a nice green color. It's dark & has a neon overtone to it. I really love the color. The picture makes the color look lighter than it actually is though. It's about 2 shades darker than this. If you're into green polish, you're gonna love this one!! This was 2 coats with no top coat.

Next up is Japanese Koi. This is a nice neon orange color, perfect for summer time. I love neon orange polish in the summer & this is probably the best orange I've found so far. This was 2 coats with no top coat. I can see why they named it Japanese Koi, the orange color is very close to the color of a Japanese Koi fish!! I buy most of my China Glaze polish off of Ebay.com, you can get it there usually cheaper than in stores, unless of course it's a hard sought after color, then forget it, it'll cost you a fortune :) Thanks for reading & as always, leave me your thoughts & comments at the bottom!!

Lynnderella's Cauldron Drippings Over Kleancolor's Metallic Orange

I will start this post by saying I absolutely LOVE Lynnderella's nail polish creations!! I don't like the price you have to pay on Ebay for them though, I think that is just ridiculous, but I did it anyway lol. Only because I love them so much & I didn't have to pay more than $25. On with the review....I chose this combination because I love Fall!! It is my favorite time of year & this combo just screams Fall!! I used 2 coats of the Kleancolor metallic orange. It went on very smooth & I had no trouble with it at all!! Then I used 2 coats of Lynderella's Cauldron Drippings. This polish is very glittery. It went on great & I had very few problems with the glitter. A few times, it would be way to much glitter on the brush & I would have to dip it back in & start over, but that only happened about 3 or 4 times.  It is a beautiful polish!! The pictures do it no justice at all. They were taken inside & I used the camera flash. Next time, I will have to take some in sunlight to see if they show it better. The Kleancolor polish looks just like the name says, it's a beautiful metallic orange, the Lynn is in a clear base with lots or orange hex & green, purple & gold glitter.

I love to get feedback so let me know what you think!! Thanks for checking out my blog!!

Zoya Bevin & Revlon Whimsical

So, I tried out my first Zoya polish. I got it during their Valentine's Day promo where if you bought 1 red polish, you got 1 free. This review is for Bevin & Revlon's Whimsical glitter polish over it. Bevin I'd like to say is an antique green color.  The picture does this polish no justice, it's actually much prettier!! Usually, I stray from greens, just because they aren't my cup of tea, but I LOVE this green.  It went on smooth & 1 coat was great, but you know me, I'm a 2 coat kind of girl!! I really think Zoya's polishes are worth the money because of the quality of the nail polish.  It lasted for over a week with no chips, or peeling of the color. You can get them for around $8 a bottle from HERE
I then put Revlon's Whimsical over top of it.  I do like the Whimsical, but I think I would of liked it better with a blue rather than a green.  The only thing I didn't like was that it took about 3 coats to get the glitter look that I like. Yes, that is 3 coats not 1 or 2 :/ Too much work for me!!I would have like it to be a bit thicker too. You can get them from most drugstores like CVS or Walgreens for around $6 a bottle. I guess you get what you pay for sometimes.
I would highly recommend the Zoya Bevin if you like green polish. Very classy looking & well worth the money it costs!!

I'm not sure why, but for some unknown reason blogger has decided to eat my pictures. I'm not even sure I still have these on my pc at home. If so, I will upload them sometime today. 11/9/12

Avon's Tangtastic & New White Mosaic Polish Review!!

Before I get to the polish review, I would like to start by saying I'm a bit upset with Avon right now.  They came out with a new line of polish in Campaign 4 called A Carnival Of Colors, with the colors, Orange Creamsicle, Fucshia Fun, Sweet Mint, Blue Escape, Aqua Fantasy & Loving Lavender.  I ordered them all except the Loving Lavender.  When my Avon lady delivered my order, there was a note that said No Longer Available on all the colors!!!! I was sitting there thinking, are you serious Avon???? Why put all those new colors in the book if they aren't available???  So, I went to Avon.com to check out what the problem was.  On their site, under the colors, it says, Available soon on 3 of the 6 colors.  So, 2 of the colors I ordered were available, but they didn't send them.  On the other hand, maybe the colors were in such demand they ran out, who knows.  All I know is that I wanted mine!!! I'm done ranting now I feel better :)
Now on to the review.  For this manicure I started with Avon smooth beginnings base coat, Avon nailwear pro in Tangtastic, Avon mosaic effects in white & a clear top coat.  I really liked this color.  It's a very pretty shade of orange, about the same color as a tangarene, hence the name.  I thought it looked great after 1 coat, but I chose to use 2.
I then went over top of that with Avon's mosaic effects in white.  I'm not sure if I like the way this turned out or not.  Maybe it's because I'm not doing it right, I don't know.  This was only my 2nd try at using crackle polish.  I don't know if I am supposed to use a thick amount or a thin amount.  I feel like when it's thick, it looks better, when it's thin, it tends to get clumpy & start to pull the color with it.  I guess what they say about practice makes perfect is true.
Like I said, I'm not sure if I like the way it looks or not.  Maybe with a brighter color underneath, it would have turned out much better.  The Tangtastic is a very pretty color though. I would recommend that.  It went on nice & smooth, didn't clump at all & it looked great with 1 coat, but I did 2.  I hope you like my review & if you have tried crackle polish, leave a comment & let us know how it turned out for  you. As always, Happy Polishing!!

Julep Maven Valentine Box :)

So, I received my Valentines box from Julep Maven the other day & just had a chance to do my nails in my new colors last night.  What I received in this shipment was pretty awesome. It was a bottle of polish called Glenn, which is a Rust/Red color, a bottle of glitter polish called Oscar, a piece of dark chocolate shaped like an Oscar, which I thought was very sweet & a bottle of cuticle oil, which I was in desperate need of lol.  So I did my nails the usual way, with a base coat of Avon's silk wrap. Then I used 1, yes 1 coat of the Glenn polish & it looked as good as if I had used 2. Then over top of that I used the glittery gold Oscar polish. I would have liked it better if the glitter polish would have went on a little thinner, but I still think it turned out nice. I then went over that with Sally Hansens Mega Shine Extended Wear Topcoat. I think picture #3 shows the glitter the best. That was taken with the flash off. Give us some comments, let us know what you think about the color combo. Good or bad, we're ready for it!! Oh & I just got my new nail stamper in the mail yesterday, so I think my next blog post is going to be about that. Don't know how good it will turn out because usually I'm not that good with stampers & things like them. We'll see though, I'm willing to give it a try :) As always, Happy Polishing!!!

Julep Maven Review

Ok, this is my 1st review of products I recently used to do my nails.  I belong to Julep Maven & I am totally in love with their products!!! If you haven't heard of them, check them out here: Julep Maven  My 1st "sneek peek" box contained 2 bottles of Julep nail polish in the colors Anne & Maria, a 3oz tube of Julep Glow On Age Defying Hand Brightener & a foil sample of Julep Everyday SPF 30 Hand Cream. This post is going to be about the color Maria.  I will write a separate blog about Julep Maven & the other products mentioned in the near future :)
I've been using Avon Nail Experts silk wrap treatment for about 2 weeks.  I was having some trouble with my nails breaking & peeling so I thought I would give this a try.  It is working great so far.  You can get it from Avon.com or if you know an Avon representative, that way is great too.  I have an awesome Avon lady (Thanks Dee) After I used that I used 2 coats of Julep's Maria polish. It is metallic pink/mauve in color & I love it.  For the top coat I used Sally Hansen's Mega Shine Extended Wear Top Coat, which I absolutely can't be without.  It's a little pricey, but worth it.  It keeps my polish looking nice for the entire week!!!!  I have included pictures of what my nails look like today & I did the manicure last Thursday.  The Julep polish went on nice & smooth & I believe 1 coat would have been sufficient, but I'm a 2 coat kind of girl lol. You can look at the pics & let me know what you think!! I love getting feedback!! That's your chance to get hit with some Lacquer Love!!! Thanks for reading & as always Happy Polishing!!

I have no idea why, but blogger has for some reason eaten the rest of the pics I posted of this manicure. I'm new to this & I'm not even sure what I'm doing. If anyone has any ideas why this may have happened, please leave me a comment or send me an email!! I would so appreciate it!!
